Wendy Grethen, originally from Deerfield, Illinois, was
introduced to the mountain dulcimer about thirty years ago and
the hammered dulcimer about ten years ago. Her “family” of
dulcimers are played as often as possible as she enjoys sharing
music and teaching others to play. She has taught over 75 group
classes and also teaches private lessons. She has performed at
local festivals, local nursing homes, holiday and special event
events, at weddings and in schools. She sells hammered and
mountain dulcimers, music instruction books, dulcimer CDs and
accessories. She put together and has run the Dulcimer Day in
Duluth folk festival for six years bringing together hundreds of
dulcimer players. She still is a proud dulcimer addict.
